Project YinYang

For this project I was inspired by yin and yang, the ancient Chinese representation of cosmic duality. Yin and yang are not opposites, but complementary values where yin is femininity and yang symbolizes masculinity. The two are trapped in a circle, the Tao, which represents the universe. Yin and yang is a dynamic process in which one cannot do without the other, so absolute yin or yang does not exist: yin is the cause of yang and vice versa.

 

This collection represents the symbol of Yin and Yang, the dynamics and how one value is reflected in and also causes another.
