Project Moirai

Silhouette + skull logo OG Dune.png

In ancient Greek religion and mythology, the Moirai, the fates, were the personifications of destiny. It’s the concept of a universal principle of natural order and balance. The role of the Moirai was to ensure that every being, mortal and divine, lived out their destiny as it was assigned to them by the laws of the universe. For mortals, this destiny spanned their entire lives and was represented as a thread that was spun from a spindle.

The Moirai were represented by three sisters, Clotho, the spinner, Lachesis, the allotter, and Atropos, the unturnable.

Clotho spun the thread of life and made major decisions, such as if and when a person is born.

Lachesis measured the thread of life allotted to each person, she decides how much time for life was to be allowed of each person or being and also choses their destiny after the thread was measured.

Atropos is the cutter of the thread of life, she choses the manner of each one’s death and when their time was come.

Each look is inspired by one of the fates, what part in life and destiny they represent, and the thread of life. These aspects and features have been incorporated through silhouette, texture, color and details.
